Reported Sightings in the Valley
Claims of a small, humanoid creature roaming Mexico’s Valley of Juárez have drawn attention after prominent UFO commentator Jaime Maussan visited the region to conduct what he called an investigation that would “go around the world.” Maussan has described the alleged being as approximately two feet tall (70 centimeters), hairless and capable of walking on two legs. He has referred to it as “El Ser de Valle de Juárez,” or the Valley of Juárez Creature.
The account was reported by local media during Maussan’s visit to Ciudad Juárez on Oct. 12. Speaking to the Juárez news outlet NetNoticias.Mx, Maussan said the creature appeared to be intelligent and agile. “It’s a predator. I’m not saying it’s extraterrestrial, but it is something scary,” he said. He added that the being supposedly had a humanlike head and appearance, while declining to identify its origin.
Claims of Attacks on Chickens
According to Maussan, the alleged creature has killed several chickens in rural areas of the valley. He cited witnesses, including a boy who reportedly saw the being seize a chicken by the head before climbing or scrambling up a tree. Maussan said he did not believe the creature posed a direct threat to people, but characterized it as a predator.
Specific locations of the reported sightings have not been disclosed, and the identities of the witnesses remain unknown. Those omissions make it difficult to independently assess the claims or determine whether the animal deaths resulted from a predator, disease, or another conventional cause. The Valley of Juárez consists of small communities and farms along the Rio Grande southeast of Ciudad Juárez, an environment where livestock losses can have multiple explanations.
Comparison With the “Metepec” Entity
Maussan compared the alleged Valley of Juárez creature with the so-called “Metepec” entity, a controversial humanoid specimen he has discussed in previous broadcasts and media appearances. He characterized the Metepec figure as an infant and the newly reported being as an adult version.
The comparison places the latest claims within a broader body of paranormal and alleged extraterrestrial reports promoted by Maussan. He has covered UFOs and other unexplained subjects for more than three decades and hosts the Mexican television program Tercer Milenio. His YouTube channel has more than one million subscribers. However, the material available about the Valley of Juárez report does not establish that the creature is related to the Metepec specimen—or that either entity is authentic.
Authorities Report No Unusual Incidents
Local authorities have not confirmed the reported sightings. Sergio Rodriguez, director of Juárez Civil Protection, told Telediario Juárez that his department had received no reports of anything unusual in the Valley of Juárez. Maussan was seen at Juárez’s Tepeyac Cemetery while working on an unspecified investigation, but no details about the inquiry were publicly released.
Authorities across the Rio Grande likewise had no confirmed reports. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said its Peter J. Herrera Patrol Station had not received reports involving unusual chicken or farm-animal deaths or sightings of a strange creature. The station covers an area along the river on the Texas side.
Evidence Remains Unverified
At present, the Valley of Juárez Creature remains an unverified claim rather than a documented discovery. No photographs, video, biological samples, veterinary findings, or independently identified witnesses were included in the available report. Maussan raised possibilities ranging from interdimensional beings to visitors arriving in spacecraft, but offered no publicly documented evidence establishing those explanations.
The report therefore continues to generate interest as a local mystery, while its factual basis remains unresolved. Until verifiable evidence or corroborated investigations emerge, the allegations should be treated cautiously and distinguished from confirmed reports of animal attacks or encounters with an unidentified species.
