> CONTROLLER & CONTACT

Unexplained Subjects (USUBJECTS) operates this website and determines how data submitted directly to it is used. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent through the contact page.

> DATA THE SITE PROCESSES

Normal web requests can create technical records such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser or user-agent and security events. If you join The Wire, the site stores your email address and subscription status. If you connect Discord, it stores the webhook URL you submit. Theme choice is stored in a first-party cookie and local storage; favicon preference is stored locally in your browser.

> PURPOSES & LEGAL BASES

Technical records are used to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the site on the basis of legitimate interests. Email addresses and Discord webhooks are processed to provide the delivery service you request and, where applicable, on the basis of consent. Records may also be retained where necessary to meet legal obligations or defend legal claims.

> SERVICE PROVIDERS

The site is hosted by Hetzner and delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare Web Analytics may measure aggregate traffic without analytics cookies. Email subscriptions may be synchronised with Buttondown for double opt-in and delivery. A Discord webhook is sent to Discord only when a user submits one. These providers process data under their own terms and may process it outside your country using their applicable transfer safeguards.

> RETENTION

Subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Discord webhook records are kept until disconnected, removed or disabled after repeated failures. The theme cookie expires after one year unless refreshed. Operational and security logs are kept only for as long as needed for delivery, abuse prevention and incident investigation.

> YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing. You may also complain to the data-protection authority that applies where you live or work. A request may require enough information to verify that it concerns you.

> COOKIES & AUTOMATED DECISIONS

USUBJECTS does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The first-party theme cookie remembers a display setting and is not used for profiling. The public site does not make decisions about visitors that have legal or similarly significant effects.
