‘My heart was pounding’: Mass. woman captures video of mysterious object

Unexplained Object Sighting Stirs Curiosity in Massachusetts

A quiet evening took a surprising turn for one Massachusetts woman when she witnessed—and filmed—a mysterious object falling from the sky over her backyard. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday night in Pembroke, has since drawn attention from local authorities and sparked discussion on social media platforms dedicated to unidentified aerial phenomena.

Eyewitness Account: “My Heart Was Pounding”

Colleen McCormack, the eyewitness, recounted her experience while speaking with Boston 25 News reporter Alyssa Azara. “I see something falling down from the sky. Had like blinking lights and like looked like it was like on fire or something and it was just coming down really fast. I had no idea what it could have been,” McCormack explained. She managed to capture an eight-second video showing the object, which appeared to glow and emit flashes as it descended.

The brief clip, taken from her backyard, depicts what McCormack described as “three things” that looked like “fire or a big light.” Expecting a dramatic impact, she quickly moved to the front of her house to capture any further developments. “My heart was pounding cuz I just looked up. I’m like, ‘Oh god, like what is about to happen right now?’” she recalled.

Object Disappears Without a Trace

Despite her efforts to track the object, McCormack said it vanished from sight as abruptly as it had appeared. “It seemed like it was coming down like so fast. It just like it knows what it’s doing. Just goes like that. I don’t know. It’s weird,” she told the reporter. The event left her searching for answers—and hoping that others might have witnessed the same phenomenon.

“I thought it was like some explosive, but I don’t know. Like hopefully I’m not the only one that saw this. I’m not going crazy like I didn’t see things and but I got on video so I’m like I did definitely see something,” McCormack emphasized, underscoring the surreal nature of the encounter.

No Official Explanation Offered

Boston 25 News reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but a spokesperson said the agency could not comment on McCormack’s footage. Importantly, the FAA also reported no incoming reports of debris or aerial anomalies in the area that night. Both the Pembroke Fire Department and local police echoed this, stating they had received no calls or reports related to the event.

Community Reaction and Continuing Interest

Since being shared online, particularly within UFO enthusiast communities on Twitter, McCormack’s video has become a focal point for speculation and analysis. While some viewers have suggested possible explanations ranging from meteorites to aircraft, the lack of corroborating evidence or official confirmation leaves the incident squarely in the category of an “unidentified aerial phenomenon.”

For now, the mystery remains unsolved, with McCormack’s video serving as both evidence of her extraordinary encounter and a reminder of the enduring public fascination with unexplained objects in the sky. As always, official agencies urge residents to report any similar sightings promptly to help ensure thorough investigations.
