Reddit post presents eight alleged extraterrestrial encounters
ILLUSTRATIVE RECONSTRUCTION // NOT EVIDENCE

Overview

A video report titled “I Thought I Was Going to Die: Eight Extraordinary Extraterrestrial Encounters” examines eight alleged encounters reported between 1945 and 1995 across North America, South America and Europe. Author and UFO researcher Preston Dennett presents the cases as examples of recurring patterns in accounts involving humanoid beings, unusual craft and apparent psychic effects. The reports come from witness testimony and investigations by UFO researchers, but none of the claims has been independently verified as evidence of extraterrestrial activity.

Reported Encounters

The cases span a wide range of settings and descriptions. In Santa Nisia, Brazil, in 1945, university student Lucy Galucci reportedly encountered a tall, fair-haired man who communicated telepathically and claimed that humanity had been “planted” on Earth by beings from three different planets. In Belgium in 1951, a couple allegedly saw a red sphere land on a road, followed by the appearance of seven small, glowing figures. Investigator Wim van Utrecht later reported four oval marks arranged in a square at the site.

Other accounts involve apparent craft and humanoid figures. In Millersport, Ohio, in 1963, the Parkinson family reported seeing a large saucer hovering above a field, with human-like silhouettes visible behind translucent windows. In Jackson, Mississippi, a five-year-old boy identified as “Larry” allegedly followed a telepathic summons outside, where he saw a glowing, egg-shaped head. The being reportedly referred to monitoring his genetic bloodline and, according to the account, the boy later claimed to possess mind-reading and clairvoyant abilities.

Physical and Psychological Effects

Several of the cases include reports of physical traces or unusual aftereffects. Two teenagers in New York’s Catskill Forest Preserve allegedly confronted four tall, faceless figures in 1975 and later discovered unexplained abrasions on their bodies. The case was investigated by the late abduction researcher Budd Hopkins. In California in 1982, a family reported seeing a glowing red rectangle near the 210 Freeway and experiencing approximately 30 minutes of missing time. The youngest child described “ghosts” gathering “stars in a bag.”

In Spain, a woman and her adult son reportedly encountered a tall, faceless figure standing rigidly in a rural road in 1980. The event was said to coincide with other UFO reports involving local police officers. In Louisville, Kentucky, in 1995, a woman identified as “Belinda” alleged that three Grey-like beings took a hair sample for DNA research. She later discovered a bald patch, which she believed had resulted from the encounter.

Recurring Themes and Evidence

Dennett emphasizes similarities among the reports, particularly telepathic communication, interest in human genetics, missing time and alleged psychic changes. Physical evidence cited in the video includes ground marks, skin abrasions and missing hair. He argues that recurring details across cases separated by geography and decades challenge explanations such as hoaxes, mental illness or shared hallucination.

Those conclusions remain disputed. The accounts were collected by UFO investigators rather than through controlled scientific studies, and the available information does not establish whether the witnesses accurately perceived extraordinary events or how the reported physical findings originated. Witness identities are also withheld in several cases, limiting independent review.

Context

Dennett concludes that reports involving humanoid entities deserve more serious attention from researchers and government agencies. He contends that the consistency of descriptions across cultures may indicate a common underlying phenomenon. Skeptics, however, note that similarities can arise through cultural influence, memory distortion or the way stories are documented and circulated. The eight cases therefore remain unverified claims that may be of interest to UFO researchers, but do not by themselves demonstrate extraterrestrial contact.
